Premiere of Spectrum with visuals by Mihai Cucu at Kirkoskammer: the Launch

Our first programme puts a range of Irish composers at the forefront. David Bremner’s 'Alternatives' pits actor against ensemble, Robert Coleman’s new work - in its world premiere - intertwines a violin duo with visuals from Mihai Cucu, and, in a throwback to Kirkos’ past, Andrew Hamilton recasts 'Ritual of Abduction' from Stravinsky’s 'Rite of Spring'. Also featuring will be music from Gráinne Mulvey, Sebastian Adams and Breffni O’Byrne.

Premiere of Hommage à Xenakis at ICC Insight series

For one night only, Dublin based visual artists Slipdraft are showcasing a new immersive light installation which has been created as a reaction to 5 new electronic works by members of the Irish Composers' Collective.

InSight #3 explores the effects of musical and visual synchronisation - combining contemporary Irish music with innovative lighting and visuals in the near perfect darkness of Smock Alley Theatre's Boys School.
Slipdraft have programmed 5 custom lighting arrangements; one for each of the compositions. This site specific installation promises to be an exhilarating and chaotic experiment in a reactive and acoustically immersive environment.
Warning: This installation features extreme strobe lighting.

Composers: Éna Brennan, Robert Coleman, Shell Dooley, Bill McGrath and Anna Murray.

The Royal Irish Academy of Music's 2016 Opera Season begins in January with Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, directed by Tom Creed, conducted by Andrew Synnott, lighting design by Paul Keogan, with set and costume designs by students from the Design for Stage and Screen at IADT, Dun Laoghaire. Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute) is one of the greatest works of art about being young and the struggle to emerge into adulthood. The score is a delightful mix of Mozart’s most glorious music: catchy, uplifting, tender and profound. This refreshing new production shows a group of very modern young people dealing with life and love – they have a lot to learn...
