‘Energy is also important’ will be premiered on 19th October at the Zuiderstrandtheatre, Den Haag by the Residentie Orkest (Hague Philharmonic).
This work was inspired by Charlie, the doorman at the construction site for the new OCC complex in the Hague. You can learn more about my process for this project here.
A high-profile initiative by the Residentie Orkest and the Royal Conservatory in The Hague is the One Minute Symphony, which will be played at the beginning of the Symphonic Friday. For this project, composition students from the Royal Conservatoire take to the streets to make contact with a resident somewhere in a neighborhood of The Hague. From that meeting a symphony of one minute arises, which premieres a few weeks later. A personal story of a resident in The Hague turned into music. This is only possible with the Residentie Orkest.
