MUSIC, RESEARCH, AND ACTIVISM II: SOLIDARITIES AND URGENCIES

14–16 May 2025, Helsinki, Finland

Robert will be presenting a research paper titled Ecological Soundwalks: Balancing Activism and Abstraction through Interdisciplinary Exploration at the conference which runs from 14-16th May at the University of Helsinki. The conference is organized by the activist music research association Suoni, Discipline of Musicology at the University of Helsinki, and the Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki. 

It seeks to bring together scholars and practitioners engaged in music, research, and activism in different disciplines and scholarly traditions. Activist research may be motivated by social and environmental movements and struggles, as well as by topical crises and conflicts such as climate emergency, ecological catastrophes, wars and conflicts, and the curtailing of human rights.
